About Nathan

Meet Br. Nathan-James SSF (legally, the Rev Darryl James Harris). With a diverse background spanning multiple helping professions, Nathan brings a unique blend of expertise to his role as a Chaplain, Registered Counsellor and Professional Supervisor.

His journey began in the world of healthcare, where he served as a nurse in various settings including hospitals, community health centers, outreach programs, and crisis care facilities.

Following his nursing career, Nathan's path took a spiritual turn as he became a member of the Society of St Francis, an Anglican religious community. This spiritual calling eventually led him to ordination as a priest, where he continued to serve in various capacities, including as a chaplain in Anglican schools.

It was during his time as a chaplain that Nathan discovered his passion for supporting young people with their emotional and spiritual needs. As a member of the pastoral care team, he engaged in one-to-one and group counseling, providing invaluable support to students navigating the complexities of adolescence.

Driven by his dedication to holistic healing and personal transformation, Nathan expanded his role to include formal counseling, seamlessly integrating it into his pastoral care practice. This evolution culminated in the creation of Anamchara Holistic Solutions, a platform through which Nathan endeavors to support individuals on their personal journeys of growth and self-discovery.

Drawing from his own lived experiences of personal challenges, including experiences of loss and childhood trauma, Nathan brings a profound empathy and understanding to his work. His own journey of healing, which involved deconstructing and reconstructing his faith, serves as a source of inspiration and insight in his therapeutic approach.

With his compassionate heart, diverse expertise, and unwavering commitment to holistic well-being, Nathan-James continues to empower others to embark on their own paths of healing and transformation.
