Reiki Master Teacher
Reiki Master Teachers are the custodians of the traditions and practices of Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki. The Third Degree is a comprehensive apprenticeship and formation program to prepare Master Candidates to assume the commitment and responsibility for passing on the knowledge, wisdom, traditions, and practice of Reiki to the next generation of practitioners.

Prerequisites
• Successful completion of both First and Second Degree Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki classes, or their equivalent.*
• A minimum of 12 months of dedicated practice following the completion of Second Degree Reiki.
• Demonstration of consistent and responsible engagement with Reiki practice.
• Acknowledgment and acceptance of the responsibilities and commitments associated with the role of a Master Teacher.
• Demonstrated dedication to personal growth and mastery aligned with the principles and ethics of the Usui System of Reiki.
• Comprehensive understanding of the theory and application of Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki.
• Awareness of one's Reiki lineage and recognition of its significance in the transmission and preservation of Reiki teachings.
* Students from other traditions or teachings must be able to provide evidence of training and demonstrate completion of similar content, having been individually and in-person initiated by their Reiki Master Teacher. Those who do not meet these criteria will be required to review First and Second Degrees before proceeding with the Third Degree training.
Synopsis
This workshop is designed for Reiki practitioners who have completed levels one and two and are ready to deepen their practice by becoming Reiki Master Teachers. Led by experienced Reiki Master Teachers, this workshop will provide comprehensive training and mentorship in the Usui Shiki Ryoho system of Reiki, focusing on the responsibilities, skills, and spiritual development required to guide others on their Reiki journey with authenticity and integrity.
Rationale
The role of a Reiki Master Teacher is pivotal in preserving and transmitting the tradition of Reiki. By offering this workshop, we aim to ensure that individuals who are called to this role are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and ethical foundation necessary to serve as effective custodians of the Reiki tradition.
Aims
• To deepen participants' understanding and experience of Reiki practice and spirituality.
• To prepare participants for the responsibilities of guiding and mentoring new Reiki practitioners.
• To empower participants to conduct Reiki initiations and teach workshops at all three levels of the Usui Shiki Ryoho system.
Objectives
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
1. Demonstrate an advanced understanding of Reiki principles, techniques, and symbols.
2. Develop confidence in conducting Reiki initiations for all three levels.
3. Cultivate a deeper connection to their own spiritual practice and personal development.
4. Acquire the skills necessary to teach Reiki workshops effectively at all three levels.
5. Embody the qualities of authenticity, integrity, and compassion required of a Reiki Master Teacher.

1. Review of Reiki Levels One and Two:
• Recapitulation of key principles, techniques, and symbols.
• Reflective discussion on personal experiences and challenges encountered in practice.
2. Deepening Your Relationship with Reiki:
• Techniques for enhancing sensitivity to Reiki energy.
• Exploring advanced Reiki meditation and self-healing practices.
• Integration of Reiki principles into daily life.
3. Personal and Spiritual Development:
• Identifying and overcoming personal blocks and limitations.
• Cultivating qualities of compassion, gratitude, and non-attachment.
• Practices for maintaining balance and harmony on the spiritual path.
4. The Role of the Master Symbol:
• Understanding the significance and meaning of the Master Symbol.
• Exploration of advanced techniques and applications involving the Master Symbol.
• Ethical considerations in the use of the Master Symbol.
5. Conducting Reiki Initiations:
• Step-by-step guidance on how to perform Reiki initiations for all three levels.
• Practical demonstrations and hands-on practice sessions.
• Addressing common challenges and concerns encountered during initiations.
6. Teaching Reiki Workshops:
• Curriculum development for Reiki workshops at all three levels.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
7. Ethical and Professional Considerations:
• Maintaining integrity, confidentiality, and boundaries in the role of a Reiki Master Teacher.
• Navigating ethical dilemmas and conflicts of interest.
• Upholding the standards and values of the Reiki community.
Duration and Format
The course duration and format will be determined through negotiation between the candidate and the initiating Reiki Master Teacher, following an apprenticeship model. It may entail:
• Observation and/or review of one or more First and Second Degree classes.
• Preparation and coordination of First and Second Degree Classes.
• Teaching components of First and Second Degree Classes.
• Coordination and/or participation in Reiki shares.
• Attendance at Master Candidate days, retreats, discussions, etc.
• Self-reflection activities on one's own practice and the practice of others.
The time commitment for each candidate, based on the outlined apprenticeship activities, will typically span at least 12 months. At the end of this period, the Third Degree of Master course will involve a minimum of 18 hours of direct instruction, practice, discussion, feedback, and reflection.
Candidates will be initiated as Master Teachers in the Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki individually and in the physical presence of their initiating Master Teacher.
The initiation will include the transmission of the fourth Usui Reiki symbol used during the initiation ritual.
Assessment
The course will consist of both formative and summative assessment.
Formative Assessment will be conducted throughout the course and may include,

Certification and Documentation
Students who complete this course will receive:
• A Usui Shiki Ryoho Master Teacher Student Handbook, including a copy of this syllabus.
• An individually registered and numbered Master Teacher certificate, including your Reiki Master Teacher’s personal Hanko and Seal.
• A copy of your Reiki Master Teacher’s lineage showing a direct unbroken line to Mikao Usui, including your Reiki Master Teacher’s personal Hanko and Seal.
Ongoing Support
Students who have completed Usui Shiki Ryoho Third Degree Reiki – Master Teacher will be invited to:
• be part of an ongoing support network via Facebook and or organised Reiki share events, these may be either in-person or distant.
• attend future workshops at all three levels at a discounted cost to review and deepen their knowledge, skills, and practice.
Articulation
• This course articulates from Usui Shiki Ryoho Second Degree – Personal and Professional Practice.
Recognition
• Reiki training is not accredited by any government body and is an unregulated industry.
• This course aligns with training standards set by Reiki Australia and the Australian Reiki Connection.
• Graduates may join these associations as professional members upon completion and may access professional practice insurance.
• Graduates may seek to apply for endorsement as a Reiki Master Teacher with the above associations and access insurance for teaching Reiki.
